Earl Lee

Earl Lee was born in Korea and moved to Canada at the age of 11. A winner of Canada's National Music Competition in the chamber music division, he received his bachelor's degree at the Curtis Institute of Music where he served as principal cellist of the symphony orchestra and studied with Orlando Cole and Peter Wiley. He is currently studying with David Soyer at the Juilliard School in the master's degree program. An avid chamber musician, Mr. Lee has participated in the Marlboro Music Festival, Musicians from Angel Fire, and the Rising Star series from Caramoor, where he collaborated with members of the Guarneri Quartet, Juilliard Quartet, Orion Quartet and Cleveland quartet. Other musicians he has collaborated with include Kim Kashkashian, Ida Kavafian, Andreas Diaz, Roberto Diaz, David Soyer, Toby Appel, Benny Kim, and Roger Tapping. Mr. Lee is a member of the Koryo String Quartet, which recent ly joined the roster of Astral Artistic services after winning their national auditions.
