At the age of 23, Kristin Lee is one of the most recognized artists of her generation. The Strad Magazine calls Lee, "...rare stylistic aptness...performed with mastery of tone and rare mood in a performer of any age."

Born in Seoul, Korea, Ms. Lee began studying the violin at the age of 5 and within just one year, she won the first prize at the prestigious Korea Times Violin Competition. In 1995, she moved to the United States and continued her musical studies under Sonja Foster. Two years later, she entered the Pre-College Division of the Juilliard School and became a student of the legendary Dorothy DeLay and Catherine Cho. In January 2000, after playing Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto with Juilliard's Pre-College Symphony Orchestra, she was chosen by Itzhak Perlman to become one of his students.

Ms. Lee made her orchestral debut with Orchestra Atlanta at the age of 10. Since then, she has appeared as soloist with many major orchestras, including the Saint Louis Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony, the New Mexico Symphony, the Modesto Symphony, the Albany (N.Y.) Symphony, Macon (Ga.) Symphony, Westchester Philharmonic, Alexandria Symphony, Ural Philharmonic of Russia, Pusan Philharmonic, and Korea Broadcast Symphony of Korea. As a recitalist, Ms. Lee has performed all over United States, including the Rising Star Series at Ravinia Festival, Salon de Virtuosi at Steinway Hall in New York City, and the Metropolitan Museum of New York. She has also given recitals at the Louvre Museum in Paris, Kumho Art Gallery in Seoul, Korea, various cities in Northern Italy. Ms. Lee's highlights in the following seasons include debut performances in Philadelphia through Astral Artists, performance with LaGrange Symphony, and premiere of Vivian Fung's violin concerto with the Metropolis Ensemble.

Ms. Lee has appeared on many different broadcasts, including Bob Sherman's Young Artists Showcase and special feature with guitarist Mattias Jacobsson on Annie Bergen's "The Office Hours" on WQXR, WFMT Chicago as guest artist of the Rising Stars Series, PBS "Live from Lincoln Center," Kennedy Center Honors, "Perlman in Shanghai" documentary, and many more.

Winner of numerous awards and prizes, Ms. Lee was recently awarded as the first prize of 2010 Astral Artists Competition. Other awards include First Prize at the Juilliard School Concerto Competition, the SYLFF Fellowship, Dorothy DeLay Scholarship, Excellent Achievement in Musicianship Award from the Pre-College Division of The Juilliard School, Juilliard Pre-College Violin Competition in 1997 and 1999, Atlanta Jewish Community Competition in 1996, Aspen Music Festival's Violin Competition in 1999, New Jersey Young Artist's Competition in 2000, Steinway Hall scholarship foundation in 2003, and many more.

As the enthusiast for chamber music, Ms. Lee was recently chosen to take part in the Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society Two program, and has joined their roster from 2009 season. She has participated in the Chamber Music Workshop@PMP, Music@Menlo, Sarasota Music Festival, and Ravinia Festival-Steans Institute and has also performed with numerous numbers of major artists, such as Itzhak Perlman, Franz Helmerson, Paul Katz, Pinchas Zuckerman, and many more.

From September 2008, she began her Masters program at the Juilliard School, serving as an assistant teacher for Itzhak Perlman's studio under the title of Starling Fellowship and studying under Itzhak Perlman and Donald Weilerstein. She is currently playing on a 1692 Antonio Stradivarius, also known as the "Avery Fisher" Strad, through the generous support from The Juilliard School.
