Alana Vegter

A native of Chicago, Horn Player Alana Vegter is a recent graduate of The Juilliard School in New York where she currently resides and actively performs with groups including Orchestra of St. Lukes, Jupiter Chamber Players, Metropolis Ensemble, Harrisburg Symphony, Syracuse Symphony, Sinfonietta of Riverdale, and CityMusic Cleveland.

Alana was a most recently a member of The Carnegie Hall Academy, a collaboration of The Juilliard School, Carnegie Hall, and the Weill Music Institute. Last season as an Academy member, she performed the Carnegie Hall Premiere of the Ligeti Horn Trio. While pursuing her undergraduate degree at DePaul University in Music Business, she was a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, training orchestra of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Alana has concertized in music halls across the United States, Europe, and Asia. She has performed in both orchestral and chamber music settings with the Spoleto Festival USA, Pacific Music Festival (Japan), The Verbier Festival Orchestra, The Juilliard Orchestra, and the Aspen Music Festival under the baton of conductors including Daniel Barenboim, Valery Gergiev, James Conlon, Pierre Boulez, Michael Tilson -Thomas, and Herbert Blomstedt. She is a student of Julie Landsman and Jon Boen. Alana is the most recent addition to Sospiro Winds, having joined the group in January of this year.
