Katie Miller

Katie Miller received first place in the 2010 Graduate, 2008 Undergraduate, and second in the 2009 Undergraduate division of the National Trumpet Competition. She was also a semi-finalist in the Budapest International Trumpet Competition and the Olga Koussevitzky Young Artists Awards Competition. As a soloist, Katie has performed the Haydn Trumpet Concerto with the Palomar Symphony, and the Telemann Concerto with the ARTSY Orchestra at The Juilliard School and also with the Budapest National Chamber Orchestra.

She has performed several works including Desenclos: Incantation, Threne and Danse, and the Jolivet: Second Concerto at The Center for Advanced Musical Studies at Chosen Vale. Katie plays with the Juilliard Symphony under Maestro James Depreist and in The Axiom Ensemble with Jeffrey Milarsky regularly, performing challenging works like Messian's Des Canyons aux Etoiles and Birtwistle's Secret Theater. Katie accepted her Bachelor's Degree in Music from the Juilliard School in 2008 as a student of Mr. Raymond Mase, and Mr. Mark Gould. She is currently earning her Masters of Music at Juilliard and continues to study with Mark Gould. Katie has studied with other great teachers including Hakan Hardenberger, Stephen Burns, Frank Glasson, Tom Stevens, and Gabrielle Cassone.
