Carlos Cordeiro
Clarinet

Carlos Cordeiro, a clarinetist and electronic musician, seeks to push boundaries of avant-garde performance. His self-produced projects include shows that incorporate interdisciplinary art forms with innovative programing, in a fusion between music, dance, electronics, computers and performer.

Carlos plays in different ensembles, ranging from duo to orchestra. He has worked with conductors Pierre Boulez, Yuri Nasushkin, Ernest Schell, Jan Cober, among others and collaborated on recordings for radio and TV, including Joan Tower's Wings for KUHF, and contemporary music for clarinet for Antena 2. He has had solo performances in concert halls around the world such as Auditorio Principe Filipe de Asturias, Zilka Hall, Cullen Theatre. Among his hobbies are outreach, street music, programing and technology. A native of Portugal, Carlos studied with some of the greatest names in Europe, Antonio Saiote, Nuno Pinto, and is currently a contemporary music student at Manhattan School of Music with David Krakauer.
