On the ProgramMetropolis Ensemble and Artistic Director/Conductor Andrew Cyr present a concert forum of new chamber music from three gifted composers, Jakub Ciupinski, Vivian Fung, and Cristina Spinei that features live, interactive demonstrations of their musical sources of inspiration. Special guests will include Gamelan Dharma Swara, the spectacularly colorful musicians and dancers under the direction of master Balinese artists, the Brazilian percussionist and Berimbau player, Meia Noite, pianist Jenny Lin and members of the Metropolis Ensemble. This concert is a preview of Metropolis Ensemble’s upcoming fall concert, REVERB, which will present three newly commissioned works by Ciupinski, Fung, and Spinei for chamber orchestra. The Americas Society is a grand turn-of-the-century townhouse on the Upper East Side; an intimate and elegant setting for both the concert forum and wine reception.
